Project Management Agency at the German Aerospace Center – Empirical Educational Research
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has commissioned the Project Management Agency [PMA] – part of the German Aerospace Center - with the thematic implementation of the Framework Programme for the Promotion of Empirical Educational Research and charged it with conducting individual funding measures. The PMA renders support to the BMBF as regards all of its organisational, scientific-technical and administrative tasks. A working group for empirical educational research was set up at the Project Management Agency for this purpose.
The PMA plans respective funding activities and prepares them. It advises scientists with regard to the published funding directives and it organises an independent scientific evaluation of proposals, it provides a research management that is both research-oriented and based on customer services. The agency renders support to the approved projects and it develops instruments for an output-oriented design of future projects. The agency thus builds a bridge between politics and science.
